Interns are native Spanish speakers who are 21-29 years old. They are students or recent college graduates. Many already have teaching experience or have worked with youth.
Interns work side by side with our classroom teachers to gain teaching skills, share teaching techniques from their countries, and represent their culture. The interactions among the Interns and students are invaluable! Interns receive a monthly stipend (paid by PTO) to cover the cost of their cell phone, personal care items, and travel/entertainment costs.
Interns have two Host families (one for each semester) and two Support families (assigned for the entire school year). Interns enjoy sharing their culture and the Spanish language with your children, while practicing and improving their English with you!
Interested in becoming a Host or Support family for this year or in the future?
Please email Intern Family Coordinators (Sarah Pouliot, Ally Gish, Jessica Bradley, Jessica Chapman, Toby Breuch) at rsisinterns@gmail.com
Who Is The PTO?
As a parent or an educator at RSI, YOU are the PTO! We are a group of dedicated parents, staff, and administrators committed to supporting our RSI children and school. All are welcome (and encouraged!) to join.
When Do We Meet?
To accommodate a wide range of busy schedules, we meet monthly on the last Tuesday of the month at the RSI Media Center from 6:30pm - 7:30pm. Free childcare for school-aged children is provided. And there are snacks! Virtual meeting information can be found here.
What Are The Benefits of Involvement?
Being an active volunteer is a great way to get to know teachers & other parents, and your student will love seeing you volunteer! Getting involved at RSI will give you and your student memories that last a lifetime!
How Can I Get Involved? Join us for a meeting. Check out our current volunteer needs here Let us know what volunteer opportunities you might be interested here.

RSIS will be offering an electronic student directory to all parents/guardians interested in being a part of the directory. This is an "opt-in" directory so you will NOT be included if you choose not to complete this form. To be in the directory, you must complete at least the student's name and grade/teacher. All other sections are optional. Please note that information will be published as entered so double-check for mistypes or errors. The directory is compiled and maintained by the PTO, not by RSIS, and is completely voluntary. It will be used primarily for parents/guardians to connect with each other, and may be used for occasional communications from PTO regarding school-related events. Only the parents/guardians in the directory will have access to the directory. Please contact rsispto@gmail.com with questions.
Square Store
Fundraisers like Spirit Wear are ran through our square store throughout the school year. There are also opportunities to pre-purchase tickets (like Fiesta Fun Fair punch cards. You can always donate to the PTO on this site as well.
All of the PTO Updates for the year are linked below. These are the updates sent out in the weekly RSI Family Newsletter emails by the Principals. The date listed is the date that the Newsletter was sent out to families.
Boosterthon Fit Dance Fundraiser is engaging & exciting for students! The first week is spent getting the students excited & ready to go out & get pledges. They will learn about the importance of teamwork, care, courage, grit, and celebration through lots of fun in-class activities. This all leads up to the main event where the kids will get their groove on during the 35 minute dance party! ALL students get to participate in event day regardless of financial participation.
This is an amazing event that you won't want to miss. Mark you calendars and book a babysitter! It is a great time to mingle with each other, dance our tails off, and raise money to support our school and Intern Program with an impressive silent auction, cash bar, appetizers, and a dance floor with DJ. RSIS families and local businesses donate items for the silent auction. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year. Email La Noche Committee to donate items, experiences, or talents at: rsislanoche@gmail.com
Stock up on new books at the Scholastic Book Fairs at the Fall and Spring Teacher Conferences. The profits from the book fair help to support the PTO and to purchase books for the media center.
