RSI PTO Update: Week of June 6

5th Grade Farewell

Congratulations class of 2029!

5th Grade Farewell is this Tuesday, June 7th and we need a few volunteers to assist with the event.

5th Grade Farewell Volunteers

Fiesta Fun Fair & Healthy Send-Off was a HUGE success!  We hope your students enjoyed and thank you coordinators and volunteers for your dedication of time to support these events.

On behalf of the 3 outgoing board members, Sarah Taylor, 4 years as Treasurer, and Macy Boss, 3 years in multiple board positions, it has been an honor to serve on RSIS PTO Board. The RSIS PTO is truly made of SO MANY amazing people who care about our teachers and students immensely. Through volunteerism and philanthropic donations, YOU ALL have been able to do so many things.

Here are just some examples of what’s to come for 2022/2023:

  1. Each classroom will be given an additional $500 above the $100 teacher gift.  Teachers have the opportunity to build up curriculum to support current needs of students in our ever growing and developing world.

  2. Maker space is a recurring budget item, this year the budget was increased from $2,000 to $5,000.  What is Maker Space??  Creative STEM programming offered throughout the school and based out of the Media Center.

  3. With the new playground we are supporting additional shade and seating (if needed) as well as funding for a 2022/2023 installed ga-ga pit.  The new playground is being installed this summer and the PTO voted to enhance the space.

  4. Raz Kids will be offered for the 18 classrooms that requested the resource.

  5. 2 additional picnic tables will be added to the 4/5th grade side of the building.

  6. Over $1,000 has been allocated to new playground toys and nets (a previous request included all types for sports balls as well as snow toys).

  7. Intern stipends will increase by $50/month, the stipend has not increased since 2014.

Thank you Jessica Chapman and SueLynn Junkert for serving this year and continuing on to next year as part of the 2022/2023 RSIS PTO Board and Welcome all new board members over the summer.

Keep an eye out on social media and the website link to Signup as we will continue to look for lead event coordinators for next school year!

We hope you all have an Amazing and Safe Summer!

On behalf of us all, Nicole M Armstrong, outgoing PTO Board President
