Dear Friends,
At the end of January, as ICE activity was crazy in the greater Minneapolis area, we asked for your help supporting the basic needs of families in our community that were not leaving home or whose income was impacted in some way. Over the subsequent weeks, we received thousands of food and hygiene item donations, and funds totaling $9,220.44 - all of which was used to support families in need.
Our community came together to shop for, package, and deliver these items to families from February through May. We don't have a precise number of how many people we helped as we didn't vet the requests in any way, and each week the demand changed. We do know we gave out between 8-30 boxes of food for about 13 weeks - so many meals and supplies!! So, on behalf of the volunteers tackling this task, THANK YOU for making this all possible. It was inspiring to see how the families of our school and our broader network came together - you are truly awesome.
