COVID planning as families get ready to head back to school

Dear Robbinsdale Area Schools staff and families,

With the first day of school rapidly approaching, we know many families have started making plans for their student’s return. Like you, we are aware of the discussions happening about the new variations of the coronavirus. We are monitoring the situation and will make the best decisions possible so we can provide the best learning environment for your students.

Please know, we will communicate on a regular basis to share timely and important updates.

Past experience has shown us how quickly changes happen, and guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz’s office can evolve daily. The District’s Incident Command Team, which is made up of administrators, school principals, and the District’s COVID coordinators, will meet often to finalize recommendations for the upcoming school year.

As we continue to plan, families should expect detailed information to be shared widely Tuesday, Aug. 17, following the School Board’s regular meeting on Monday Aug. 16.

Sincerely,

David Engstrom
Superintendent
