Thank you, Volunteers! A Message From Sra. Mehdizadeh
This year, we have recognized our volunteers for your amazing dedication to our students, families, staff and school through the newsletters and at various school events. This week, we are recognizing our volunteers with a note and sweet treat that you will receive from your child's teacher or that you may pick up in the RSI school office. We will not be having a Volunteer Tea this year. Our goal is to recognize all of our volunteers multiple times every year.
Our volunteers contribute in countless ways to fund programming, provide classroom support for student learning, and complete tasks for teachers and the office.
We are able to have a dynamic intern program with 10 educators from Spanish speaking countries throughout the world through funds raised by our PTO. Our PTO and parent volunteers lead the fundraisers, and many of our families participate and contribute to their success. PTO has also funded the purchase of critical materials for classroom libraries, instructional technology and extra curricular activities.
We have Volunteers in Partnership from our community who support student learning in a variety of ways. We are in our second year of having Breck Spanish students come to our school on a weekly basis to work with many of our teachers and students in the classroom. We also have Spanish-speaking students from our district's high schools and the community who work directly with our students and teachers.
Our volunteers provide additional support to our students for their learning. Volunteers chaperon field trips. They also plan and participate in our class parties. On an average party day at RSI, we have 190-250 volunteers who make these events possible for our students.
Countless volunteers come in on a monthly, weekly or daily basis to assist us by doing a variety of tasks that free up teachers and school personnel to keep our focus on the children, their learning and social-emotional well-being.
RSIS volunteers send the message to all of our students, families and staff that education matters. You send the message to our children that you care about them, and that they are important members of our community. Our volunteers send the message to our staff and families that you care about our school through every effort you make on behalf of children. We cannot do what we do without all of our amazing volunteers. We are incredibly grateful for all you do for our school.
